- I graduated in the '80s as an Osteopath and Naturopath and return to teach for four years at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. During this time I started my own clinic. It grew busy and became more demanding forcing me to leave teaching and focus on the practice in North London. An opportunistic dinner with Professor Patrick Wall, one of the fathers of modern pain research and the development of TENS therapy for pain relief, finally ignited my long term interest in the treatment of chronic pain. To this end I trained in western acupuncture method at the Royal Homeopathic Hospital in London’s Queens Square and Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow. I have now integrated the use of so-called western medical acupuncture into my daily clinical work with great success. This method differs from traditional Chinese acupuncture since it does not follow the philosophical concepts of Chinese medicine choosing to use western diagnostic methods in its selection of acupuncture points. I now holds clinics in London, Glasgow and the on West coast of Scotland where I now live. I also have regular phone-in for BBC radio Cornwall hosted by Tim Hubbard.
